Sauerkraut Casserole

1 pound ground beef
1/4 pound ground pork
2 cups quick-cooking rice
1 medium can sauerkraut (14 oz.) rinsed and drained
1 can tomato soup
1 can water
salt and pepper to your taste
2 tablespoons white sugar

Brown and drain beef and pork and mix with all the rest of the ingredients. Put into a sprayed casserole dish. Bake 1 hour at 350 degrees. If it looks like it is getting dry, add some water and finish baking.
